Models and methods

In guidance of learning course we were learning about teaching and learning models and methods. In peer groups we were presenting different pedacogical models such as: problem- and project based learning, collaborative- and cooperative learning, drama pedacogy and experiental learning and progressive inquiry and learning by developing. We presented progressive inquiry and learning by developing. In progressive inquiry the learning happens in the process imitating the thinking of scientific researchers. Learning by developing is a model created in Laurea University of Applied Sciences.
Why it's important to know about pedacogical models? Pedacogical model helps the teacher to organize teaching and gives a structure for teaching and lectures.

Teaching methods are the concrete tool to teach. In my own teaching field if thinking about basic vocational skills, the most applicable and the most used and effective is probably demonstration method. I think this is also the way that I've learned my basic skills taking care of horses and stablework. First show how the skill is done at the same time explaining the facts needed and then let the student try and ask to explain the actions.
